Message Here's the deal, the high pressure valve on my AC compressor was blown out when I bought the car. I replaced it with a new one from the stealership. I decided it would be best to use R134a so I retrofitted the high and low pressure fittings and vacuumed the crap out of the entire system 3 different times for 30mins each! Even after the vacuum was off, according to the guage it help -28psi for another 30 minutes. So I thought, sweet, no leaks!

I topped her off with 2 cans of R134a and instantly the compressor kicked on and started blowing ICE cold. The pressure showed about 42psi according to the guage that came with the cans of R134a. The next afternoon however it seems to have leaked out. I didn't bother ot use dye, I don't have a light anyway, but my system is still showing a positive pressure of 5psi so the leak must not be THAT bad and only at high pressure. It's not enough to kick on the compressor and I don't think I need to vacuum it again if it hasn't reached 0 pressure again.

SO, lol, I have seen the white cans with the red lettering sold at Wal-Mart and all the autmotive stores that says it's "STOP LEAK" for the AC system. Do you think this will help? Is there a better brand or type? I'm REALLY broke at this second and need AC bad, it's 108 degrees and I have a funeral to drive 3hrs to tomorrow in the heat wearing all black dress clothes!

I know the leak is most likely a cracked and dried out O ring but will any kind of stop leak help since the leak isn't very bad?

Thanks!
